Your carpet is one of the biggest investments in your home.
SPECIAL WINDOW OFFER FOR VACATING TENANTS SEE BELOW
It is important to have it cleaned regularly by a professional that has been fully trained in carpet care to ensure you get full value for the life of the carpet.
At Get Shorty, although we believe that the value is very important, our emphasis is on
CLEAN - HEALTHY - DRY - CARPET
After all, your children, (and possibly your pets), are going to be crawling around on the carpet, so shouldn’t it be healthy as well as clean ?
We insist on only using premium products that are safe for the evironment which includes not only your children and pets, but also for the indoor air quality, especially for asthmatics, allergy sufferers and those with chemical sensitivities.
To ensure a thorough clean, we have a dedicated process that exceeds the Australian Standard for Carpet Cleaning.
- The carpet is first inspected to check for any concerns including stains, burns, rips etc;
- Then the carpet is thoroughly vacuumed using an upright vacuum cleaner with a beater brush and a HEPA filter.
- This ensures the maximum of dry soil removal and the HEPA filter stops any dust from polluting the air. (Some cleaners bypass this step, turning the soiling into mud when it is wet, which wicks to the surface as the carpet dries).
- The carpet is then treated for any spots and spills.
- We then apply our selected pre-spray to condition the carpet and loosen any soiling.
- The carpet will then be agitated to further loosen any soiling.
- It is then rinsed with hot water and a solution which places the carpet fibres in the correct pH balance.
- The carpet is then extracted, taking the pollutants and other soils in the carpet out to our vehicle where it is contained in a waste tank for disposal.
- Finally, the carpet is groomed to set the pile and assist in a rapid dry of clean, healthy carpet.
WHAT IF I WAIT TO GET MY CARPETS CLEANED?
You may if you wish, BUT, waiting long periods between carpet cleanings may seem like you are saving money, but you aren’t really.
Your carpet will wear out faster and will have to be replaced sooner due to the abrasive particles of sand and dust in the base of the carpet.
Also any spots etc; will be that much more difficult to remove, if they can be.
We like to educate our customers on keeping their carpets in better condition between cleanings, so we offer these suggestions:
- Use doormats in heavy traffic areas, this will help keep sand and dirt, (which is very abrasive), out of your house and off the carpets.
- Regular vacuuming is your carpets second best friend. See what the Carpet & Rug Institute has to say about vacuums here:
- Moving your furniture around will also help alleviate “traffic lanes”, those wear patterns in the carpet.
- Clean up spills as soon as possible, check out our cleaning tips for specific spills.
- Rather than walking barefoot on the carpet, we suggest you wear socks, this will help stop the oils in our feet transferring onto the carpet.
WINDOW CLEANING
- For those tenants moving out of their rented unit, windows can be a problem to clean, especially in the higher buildings around Cairns.
- A lot of tenants find that they are able to clean just about everything else in the unit, but do not have the right equipment to clean the windows, especially on the outside.
- Get Shorty can clean those interior & exterior windows for you at the same time that they clean your carpets and other furnishings, allowing you to concentrate on more important items.
