Spots & Stains

Spots & Stains ???

They may sound similar, but there is a major difference in the two.

A spot is a mark that can generally be removed from your carpet or upholstery.

Knowing what caused it and the pH is extremely helpful in knowing what solutions can be used to remove it.

Many people try “home remedies” and inadvertently turn a simple spot into a stain.

The fibre also is a determining factor as to whether or not it can be repaired.

A stain is where a product has come in contact with the fabric and caused a chemical reaction which has physically changed the colour of the fabric.

These stains can be permanent, although some may be reversed by using various solutions, heat, repairing with another piece (in carpet), or even by adding dyes to the fibres to replace the lost/changed dyes.

Home remedies, and advice from television/radio personalities, generally create more problems than cures.
